While We Circled the Sun | Debut Album

While we circled the sun

This album is the most selfish thing I've ever done in the best way. I had a serendipitous interaction at a concert with a friend of a friend, Zac Hamilton, an up & coming artist and producer based out of Nashville who I've always admired and wanted to work with. I didn't know him very well and we barely said hello. It was a 30 second interaction of "I'm free to work on music this week" and "Let's do it."

I walk at least 3-6 miles a day which I know is weird but I don't have a patio in my apartment and it's my main way of listening to music/processing/getting air. The title and the tracks are inspired by this feeling of walking the same loop around Milwaukee's lower east side and lakefront every day for years and the dynamic character arc I experienced while the route stayed the same. These songs are an over analytical journey of self knowledge and often delusional contemplation of the motives of my love interests.

The focus is on the internal self, not too much emphasis an actual storylines in these tunes. I hope that the EP feels like a summer walk on Milwaukee's East Side. Everyone has their ritual where they find the infinite in the ordinary. Circling the sun while I circle the East Side is mine.
